eferencing a long local tradition, the new Saint Andrew Catholic Church is designed to recall the spirit and image of its historic predecessor in downtown Harrodsburg. Working from historic documentation, the main facade and bell tower of the new church make direct references to the grand arched window and towering steeple of the original church. The use of traditional materials and imagery for the columned arcades, the classroom wing, and the parish hall wing implies a process of incremental growth and development over a period of years.
Sited on a hill overlooking the main entrance to town, the new structure includes classrooms, dining and fellowship facilities, administrative offices, and a 400 seat sanctuary which can be expanded to seat 700. Site amenities include a walled meditation garden, central courtyard, pedestrian arcades, and ample (expandable) parking. The Church Building was designed by Taylor Architects, a service and design oriented firm. Principle Jerry Taylor brings years of experience to bear on every project.
