Parish Council and the Finance Council Members, please come forward. Stand with me.
First of all, thank you for listening. We are greatly encouraged by the sense of support we have received for our efforts to bring financial stability to Saint Andrew Parish.
You have heard the testimonies of fellow parishioners Joe Bill Fister and Bill Huston. They come from you and represent you. Today I have asked our PPC and FC members, present at this Mass, to join me. This initiative came from them.
Financial Council and the Parish Council Members have concluded that a “pledge” card filled out by you, fellow parishioners, would be helpful to us all. First, it makes us pause, reflect on our responsibility as a member of St Andrew; second, when we commit ourselves in writing, we tend to be more apt to follow, and lastly, it allows us to calculate the extent to which we can “count on you” to correct our deficit and to plan for the future.
At the end of your pew today there is a pledge form we have designed for you to fill out. It asks: can you increase your current giving to help correct our Offertory and Mortgage shortfall? Can we “Count on you”? Please pass them down.
This is confidential.
Take it home with you to return next week. Do pray on your offering increase. Is it doable for you, every week? Consistency is the key.
We ask you to fill out a pledge even if you are unable to increase your offering. Even if you put zero.
Thank you for filling them out. If you are able to fill this out today, fold it over and bring it to an usher. Ushers, please stand. They will be standing in the narthex after Mass.
Otherwise, we will collect them next week. Remember to bring them with you next Sunday. However, should you leave it behind, we will again have the pledge forms available for those who were not here today. We will also post it to the website.
Again, thanks for all you do.
Praised be Jesus Christ!
Saint Andrew, pray for us!
